Videos for live wallpapers on Mac

Walyro has no online wallpaper library on purpose: your wallpapers come from your own videos, and nothing leaves your Mac. No accounts, no cloud sync, no tracking.

A few built-in starter videos are included so the app is never empty. When you want more, this page shows where to get videos you can import yourself.

Use a clip you already own

AirDrop a video from your iPhone, use drone footage, or pick a short scene from a trip.

Download a free personal-use video

Use a reputable source, check the license, and keep the file on your Mac.

Buy a licensed stock clip

Useful when you want a specific city, landscape, abstract loop, or space scene.

Any video you own works.

Start with files that are already yours: a clip from your iPhone camera roll, drone footage, a scene you recorded on a trip, or a screen recording of generative art.

AirDrop the clip to your Mac, keep it somewhere easy to find, and import it into Walyro. Short, calm loops usually work best because they sit behind your windows all day.

Add it to Walyro

  1. 1. Open Walyro

Use the app window or the menu bar item.

  2. 2. Import or drag the file

MP4, MOV, and M4V files work.

  3. 3. Set it as wallpaper

Choose the display, preview the crop, then apply.

Free sources for personal use.

Download for your own use. Stock-site licenses are written for people downloading files, not for another app to re-share them as a wallpaper catalog, which is also why Walyro does not bundle them.
